Inhalt | In this course we will explore workplace discourse in its different facets. This includes different types of workplace interactions including team meetings, job interviews or hiring adverts, and different issues in workplace communication including topics such as: leadership, gender and intercultural workplace communication, which we will explore both from a theoretical and practical lens. Through practical exercises we will also explore our own communication style in regards to leadership and teamwork and reflect on its consequences. |
Lernziele | At the end of the course students will: - have gained knowledge of theoretical concepts and have developed clear understandings on how these affect (workplace) communication. - be able to critically reflect on the importance of language use in workplace decision making. - be able to apply theoretical concepts to everyday language use. - have reflected on their own communication, and their team and leadership styles. |
Literatur | We will read a different research article each week. These will be made available via ADAM. |
