| Inhalt | Modern drug discovery and development has undergone a series of profound changes during the past decades, including the extension of combinatorial approaches and screening capabilities and the growing importance of biologics in the therapeutic arsenal. Following molecular mechanisms of drug action in key therapeutic areas, ranging from lipid metabolism and thrombosis to neurological diseases, this lecture highlights and discusses previous and recent strategies in drug design. Relevant examples will be dissected with respect to medicinal chemistry, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and other important aspects. |
| Lernziele | The learning objectives for each topic will be defined in the lecture and script. |
| Literatur | A script of the lecture will be available on ADAM and defines the exam-relevant content. Recommendations for text books and additional suggestions for further reading are provided in the script. |
