| Inhalt | Sant'Anna School, Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, and Universität Basel organize the Spring School on Criminal Law and the Anthropocene - Cross-disciplinary perspectives and critical approaches. The Spring School aims to explore and debate the significant implications of the Anthropocene framework for Criminal Law from methodological, conceptual, normative, and practical perspectives. It brings together leading international scholars and selected postgraduate students to foster critical and interdisciplinary discussion. The Spring School will take place in Pisa from May 25th to 29th, 2026. The programme features thematic sessions on the foundations of law in the Anthropocene, its implications for criminal law at both international and transnational levels, as well as contributions emerging from science and social studies. Key themes include rethinking responsibility, causation, and punishment in the context of environmental and global harms; integrating scientific and socio-legal approaches; addressing emerging forms of victimization; reconsidering international criminal law and atrocity frameworks; and reflecting on the protection of intergenerational interests and the safeguarding of present and future conditions for the Earth, as seen in the field of climate criminal law. Keynote lectures, writing workshops, and open debates will complement the sessions, providing participants with opportunities for in-depth engagement and networking. |
