| Inhalt | The lecture Applied Monetary Policy is a course aimed at giving students insight into the world of monetary policy. The lecture is divided into three parts. The first part provides the definition of the most important terms in monetary policy. The second part lists the goals and concepts of a central bank and shows which instruments central banks have at their disposal to achieve their goals. Finally, the third part of the lecture discusses the measures taken by the most important central banks during the financial crisis (starting in 2007), with a focus on the Swiss National Bank (SNB) and current challenges. Each block will be illustrated with applied practical examples. |
