Inhalt | The aim of the seminar is to acquire an in-depth knowledge of Ethiopian specific topics in his-torical and environmental sciences. Every session consists of a students report on a selected topic, supported by a powerpoint presentation, followed by a detailed discussion. The report must be briefly summarized and distributed as a handout. The crediting of the credit points requires (1) the regular presence at the sessions, (2) the active participation during the discus-sion and (3) pass ranks for the oral presentation and the handout. The seminar is designed for students attending the Grosse Exkursion (Äthiopien). The seminar language is English. Topics covered in the seminars include: 1. Climate of Ethiopa. 2. Geology and geomorphological processes 3. Fauna and Flora of Ethiopia: their distribution and biogeographical history. 4. Human Evolution. 5. Human impact of Ethiopian ecosystems. 6. Sustainable development. 7. Ethology of Ethiopia. 8. History of Ethiopia. |
