| Inhalt | Representations of regional identity are at the core of many writers of the American South beside the exploration of the troubling history of the Old South. William Faulkner and Zora Neale Hurston are two representative writers whose texts challenge traditions, rituals, and myths of the South in very different ways. In this course we will discuss meanings of place/region with regard to race and gender. Furthermore, narratological issues will be addressed as well as concepts and definitions of narratives. |
| Lernziele | The aim of this course is to exercise and expand the range of skills acquired in the introductory courses, and to practice giving presentations. |
