| Lernziele | This course seeks to anaylze a selection of New York novels in their respective time and environment. Aspects of space and place, of creating and "living the city" in multifarious ways will be at stake. |
| Literatur | Dreiser, SISTER CARRIE, Fitzgerald, THE GREAT GATSBY, Fritz Lang, METROPOLIS (Film), Dos Passos, MANHATTAN TRANSFER, Salinger, THE CATCHER IN THE RYE, DeLillo, COSMOPOLIS, Foer, EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE. Additional secondary sources will be availble online. |

| Teilnahmevoraussetzungen | For students who have successfully completed their 1st year courses in Literature and Culture Studies. |
