62647-01 - Colloquium: Master’s Thesis: Presentation (1 CP)

Semester fall semester 2025
Course frequency Every semester
Lecturers Beat Hintermann (b.hintermann@unibas.ch, Assessor)
Content This colloquium is required and exclusive for students in the Master of Economics and Public Policy. The colloquium has to be taken three times over the course of the MEPP, but each time in a different role. The different versions of the colloquium correspond to these roles: Discussion, Research Design and Presentation.
Students that sign up for the "Presentation" role present their research plan and receive feedback from other students and from faculty. To facilitate planning, students must inform the MEPP office at the beginning of the semester which of the scheduled meetings they will use for their presentation. The thesis should be presented once sufficient progress has been made, but before completion.

Admission requirements It is recommended that students present their research design and their (unfinished) thesis in different semesters. However, if required for timely graduation, students may assume the role of "Research Design" in the same semester as the role of "Presentation". In this case, they need to sign up for both versions of the colloquium and present the design in the first meeting of the semester and their thesis in the last. Please consult with the MEPP office before signing up for such a double role.
Course application Registration: Please enroll in the Online Services (services.unibas.ch).
