Content This BA/MA-seminar tackles a difficult topic that explores how "the unspeakable is unspoken" in a variety of texts ranging from slave narratives to contemporary novels and short stories. At stake in this advanced course is the textual representation rather than rape as a social trauma. At the intersection of race, class, and gender issues this seminar offers an insight in various forms of profiling and allows a deeper understanding of 'rape' as
