Content In this course on research methodology in linguistics, we will explore different ways of developing research questions, finding relevant data and the appropriate methodology to pursue our research interests. We will discuss texts on methodology but will also practice how to critically evaluate existing research papers. During the lecture there will be time for groupwork and exercises.
Learning objectives At the end of this course, students should have become aware of different research methodologies and their implications. They should be more confident in critically assessing other people’s research and developing their own projects.
Bibliography Students are recommended to purchase Litosseliti (2010). Further reading and lecture slides will be made available on OLAT.
