Content | Over the last decades, bioethics - the field that studies ethical questions in the life sciences and medicine - has become a well-established academic discipline. Contemporary bioethics scholarship comprises not only the development of normative frameworks for problem solving, but also the collection and interpretation of empirical data that can inform bioethical debates. Bioethics is by definition an interdisciplinary domain; the questions it studies are too complex to be resolved by the methodological tools or approaches offered within one discipline, and as a result it utilizes mixed methods coming from various disciplines. The course will focus on qualitative and quantitative methods and include also an introduction into publishing in bioethics. |
