Content | This is a unique opportunity for students who like to actively develop their own research focus within this seminar following the International Day Conference "City in Flux" (Tuesday June 19, 2012). After an introduction by experts Lindy Stiebel and Sally-Ann Murray, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, we will focus on texts and contexts illuminating urbanization and societal change in the third South African metropolis (after Johannesburg and Cape Town). Within the scope of the Swiss South African Joint Research Programme (SSAJRP), seminar participants will partake in research oriented projects of their own choice, among others: -Durban's urbanization and societal change -Patrick Bond, "Can Durban Recover From Michael Sutcliffe's Reign of "Neoliberal Nationalism"? Admission requirements | Successful completion of 2nd-year module "Refining Skills in Literature and Culture" (including the proseminar paper). MANDATORY: ATTENDANCE of the INTERNATIONAL DAY CONFERENCE on JUNE 19 2012 at the English Seminar (Grosser Hörsaa). |
