| Content | In this course we will consider the work of the contemporary British novelist and essayist Tim Parks. We will be concentrating on his work as a novelist. |

| Bibliography | The following novels by Tim Parks are required for the course: - "Goodness" (1991) - "Destiny" (1999) - "Rapids" (2005) - "Dreams of Rivers and Seas" (2008) - "The Server" (2012) Please purchase the novels from the 'Labyrinth' bookstore, Nadelberg 17, Basel. If possible, please read the novels before the course begins. |
| Admission requirements | For English majors who have successfully completed their second-year courses in Literature and Culture Studies (including the proseminar paper), and for others who have successfully completed an equivalent course of study in their fields. |
