32638-01 - Colloquium: Cultural Topographies (3 CP)

Content This research colloquium is part of a more extended project on "Cultural Topographies". We will continue our discussions of cultural constructions of space, this time with a focus on recent developments in the field of literary geography/geocriticism. The colloquium is recommended as a suitable course for the "Zertifizierung Kulturelle Topographien", and it is also specifically for students wishing to give the colloquium presentation required in the MA research skills module. For preliminary reading you may consult Barbara Piatti, "Die Geographie der Literatur. Schauplätze, Handlungsräume, Raumphantasien" (2008).
Learning objectives Students will widen their knowledge of spatial theory and practice and develop their skills in research as well as academic discussion and presentation.
