| Content | This course considers the European Union’s basic substantive economic law. Art. 26 TFEU provides: “The internal market shall comprise an area without internal frontiers in which the free movement of goods, persons, services and capital is ensured in accordance with the provisions of this Treaty”. Art. 119 TFEU states the importance of an economic policy conducted in accordance with the principle of an open market economy with free competition. Accordingly, the course deals with the concept of the Internal Market and the “four freedoms”. Further, it provides a brief introduction to EU competition law and its relationship with the rules on free movement. |
