19758-01 - Seminar: International Peacebuilding (3 CP)

Content On the introductory day (1 March 2014) of this interdisciplinary course, the students will learn the basics of peacebuilding from the perspectives of political science, law and economics. Afterwards, they will work on specific aspects of peacebuilding in small groups. They will analyse the topics chosen from at least two disciplinary perspectives. First results will be presented during the two workshop days in April 2014. A seminar paper is due for 4 May 2014.
Learning objectives The students are familiar with the most important terms and instruments of international peacebuilding. They know selected case studies in detail. Besides, the students are able to understand the relations between political, economic und judicial questions. They are familiar with the most important subjects of the current debates on civilian peacebuildung.
