36470-01 - Research seminar: Out of Africa: Literatures in English since the 1950s (4 CP)

Content This seminar will deepen the understanding of the texts discussed in the lecture course and will provide a knowledge of the literary production in English "out of Africa" since the beginning of independence. It will further discuss postcolonial theoretical approaches in the readings of Achebe, Tutuola, Aidoo, Armah, Soyinka, Okri, Bandele-Thomas, Kenyatta, wa Thiong'o, Vera, Dangarembga, Head, Ngcobo and Magona.
>Attendance of the Lecture Course "Out of Africa: Literatures in English since the 1950s--A Survey" (36463-01) is mandatory.
Bibliography Books will be ordered at the 'Labyrinth'.
