Content | This course is offers an introduction to the study of literature. Details will be announced at the beginning of term. |
Learning objectives | Students will acquire the methodological tools necessary for the analysis of literary texts. The course will focus on the three main genres (poetry, prose and drama) and introduce students to important periods in literary history (Early Modern, Romantic, Modernist, Postmodernist). In addition, students will get acquainted with the basics of film analysis. They will also learn how to conduct research and how to engage in academic discourse. |

Course application | Students are required to manually sign up for this class on the sign-up sheets, posted in 2nd floor corridor of the rear building of the English Seminar from August 31 - September 10th. Please register on or before September 10. Once you have signed up for your section, you can then register for the corresponding section on MOnA. Please ensure that you have only registered for ONE of the parallel sections: students registered to more than one section will be allocated to one of the sections by the instructors. Please also note that places are limited and once a section is fully booked, you will need to sign up for one of the alternative sections. Preference will be given to those signed up on the sign up sheets and not to the online list. |
