Admission requirements Students should fulfil the following prerequisites:
- Mathematics Background:
Although no formal requirements are made, the course assumes that students are comfortable with mathematical methods including analysis, calculus, and linear algebra, at a fairly advanced level.
- Computer Science Background
Although not required, familiarity with the basic of programmings and/or usage of software such as Maple and Matlab, is helpful.

Assessment format continuous assessment
Assessment details The exercises have to be solved on computers, and the results have to be sent in by email. Students are asked to discuss their solutions at the exercise sessions. Attendance of these exercise sessions is obligatory. In addition to the results of the exercises, there will be a written exam at the end of the course.
