26111-01 - Seminar with practical course: Grundlagen des Gedächtnisses und der Emotionsverarbeitung (3 CP)

| Content | This seminar is divided into two main blocks. First, theoretical bases for emotion processing, memory, and emotional memory will be presented. This includes knowledge about the different anatomical brain structures involved, presentation of different theories on emotion processing, presentation of different memory systems, as well as basics of image acquisition in MRI-fMRI. One special session will be dedicated to learning and memory in animals, with the example of the nematode C. elegans, presented by Dr Attila Stetak. The second block will consist in the presentation of scientific articles from the students, covering recent findings in the fields of emotion and/or memory. As part of their presentation, students will also have to introduce the design of a new study that they would like to perform, based on the results/limitations of the article they chose. Students will also have the opportunity to assist to one of the currently running study in the Divisions of Cognitive and Molecular Neuroscience. |

| Course application | Ab 1. August bis 19. August 2016 können über MOnA die Seminare belegt werden. Ab 20. August 2016 wird die Zuteilung zu den Seminaren durch die Dozenten vorgenommen. Im Anschluss besteht die Möglichkeit, nach Absprache mit den Dozenten, weitere Seminare zu belegen. |
