| Content | Il periodo del ventennio fascista (1922-1943) riveste un notevole interesse per la storia della lingua italiana. Il regime mussoliniano attuò infatti numerosi interventi autoritari di politica linguistica, dettati dalla volontà di ottenere l’unificazione linguistica del paese e di garantire, attraverso questa, un più saldo consenso popolare all’ideologia fascista. Non solo gli interventi istituzionali dall’alto, però, ma anche i comportamenti linguistici dell’epoca meritano attenzione. La comunicazione politica e giornalistica prodotta nell’orbita del regime è in gran parte ispirata alla lingua di Mussolini, assunta come modello esemplare. Questo modello si nutre di ingredienti linguistici e stilistici particolari, che rispondono principalmente a obiettivi di persuasione retorica degli ascoltatori o lettori. Il corso avrà l’obiettivo di approfondire entrambi gli aspetti del rapporto tra fascismo e lingua italiana. La politica linguistica del regime sarà indagata con attenzione alle tre tematiche fondamentali in cui questa si articola: (i) l’ostilità del fascismo nei confronti dei dialetti, che si esprime soprattutto nei provvedimenti di politica scolastica del regime; (ii) il tentativo di assimilazione linguistica forzata delle minoranze etniche di lingua non italiana, come quella tedescofona dell’Alto Adige/Südtirol; (iii) la campagna contro l’uso delle parole straniere, condotta attraverso proposte esplicite di sostituzione con termini italiani. La lingua di Mussolini e del fascismo sarà invece osservata attraverso l’analisi linguistico-stilistica di alcuni documenti dell’epoca: articoli giornalistici, testi dei discorsi di Mussolini, disposizioni ufficiali del regime, ecc. |
