Content | This course is held entirely in English and will explore the legal and ethical dimensions of current controversies related to health and intellectual property, with a particular emphasis on the role of international organizations. Topics will include pandemic preparedness, benefit sharing, travel restrictions for persons living with HIV, and legal protections of traditional knowledge. A significant component of the course will consist of visits to international organizations in Geneva, such as UNAIDS, WHO, WTO, and WIPO. |
Admission requirements | Suitable for students of all fields. This course is intended mainly for master- and PhD-students, in case there are places left, also advanced bachelor students may be admitted. |

Assessment details | Presence during the visit, essay plus oral presentation necessary for a pass for 3 credits. With a learning contract students can aquire only 1 Credit Point, if they only follow the visits and submitt a short essay on the learnings. |
