Course frequency | Every fall sem. |
Lecturers | David Coynel (david.coynel@unibas.ch, Assessor) |
Content | This seminar, which has two main aspects, is designed as a deepening of the "Lernen" lecture. First, the theoretical bases of memory, emotions processing, and emotional memory will be presented. This includes knowledge about the different anatomical brain structures involved, the different memory systems, different theories on emotion processing, as well as basics of image acquisition in MRI-fMRI. Corresponding animal models will also be introduced. The seminar also consists in the weekly presentation of scientific articles from the students, following the theoretical planning and covering relevant findings in the fields of emotions and/or memory. As part of their presentation, students have to provide a critical point of view on the article they chose. This would help to introduce and discuss the design of a new study that they would think of conducting. |
