52317-01 - Colloquium: Presentation of Concepts of MSD Master's Thesis (1 CP)

Content Within the study program of MSD 2017, students have to register 3 times in a 'master's thesis colloquium'. This colloquium is the second one. The participants present the research questions and the research design that are likely to be used in their master thesis. They prepare their presentation in a way that is accessible to an interdisciplinary audience and focus on the relation of their research questions to sustainable development and the fit between these questions and the research design.

Learning objectives Participants learn
- to present research questions and a research concept to an interdisciplinary audience;
- to place their research questions in an appropriate sustainability context;
- to discuss research questions and concepts from other disciplines;
- to provide constructive feedback to their fellow students.
Comments Only for students of the MSD 2017 who has to present their master's thesis design.

Schedule: 12.10; 16.11; and 21.12.18. From 14.15 - aprox. 19.00h (depends on number of presentations); seminar room 02.02, Vesalianum, 2.nd floor. Additional date (if necessary: 10.12.18: 12.15h)

 

Admission requirements Only for students of the MSD 2017. The application of the master's thesis is to be submitted in the current semester. Students make a presentation of their master's theses design after having received the email of acceptance concerning their application of the master's thesis.
Course application Students have to register for a presentation time slot on doodle. Those who have not received the doodle link by email (sent by the of the coordination office MSD at latest at the beginning of September 2018) ask for the link sending an email to: coordintion-msd@unibas.ch
