55641-01 - Colloquium: Research in English linguistics (3 CP)

Content This course is for MA English, MSG SuK and PhD candidates in (English) linguistics. We will discuss the 'work in progress' (seminar papers, MA theses, PhD theses) of the participants and will work on acquiring research skills in methodology, critical reading and soft skills. The oral MA exam will also be discussed.
Learning objectives Students learn to present their research topics on a high level. They should be able to outline and defend or constructively criticize different research approaches.
Bibliography Pdfs of relevant literature will be made available in ADAM once the program has been fixed after the first meeting.
