Content | Writing – and finishing writing! – a PhD is a very challenging endeavor. This course, conceptualized as "Writing-Lab", takes this challenge as starting position to creatively work on participants/G3S members’ PhD theses, be it on the introductive or concluding chapters, on empiric vignettes, on headings or the systematic literature review, the role and place of the authorship – or other elements of your writing projects. This process will be accompanied by jointly arranged inputs on interesting examples from the social sciences, depending on the participants preferences and fields of research e.g. from political science, social/cultural anthropology, sociology or other disciplines (see semester overview). Thus, by reading and discussing parts of your favorite books or articles with regard to the above-mentioned topics and/or stylistic elements we learn about various ways to pursue with our own writing project. This course is open for all members of the G3S who are currently writing their theses. Each session will be organized along one key topic and will also provide room to reflect on individual text paragraphs. Additionally, all participants have the possibility to submit a chapter or a couple of pages of their thesis to get an individual feedback. The course is organized biweekly and from 10am to 2pm. |
