Content Digital curation has various definitions: It can be understood as the strategy of digital archiving as well as the process of selection of content and the definition and maintenance of metadata. Another aspect is the preparation of exhibitions.
In the seminar, we will discuss different approaches and will visit the Fotostiftung Schweiz to do on-site practical work. The strategy of digital archiving will be looked at in detail. We will also discuss how large assets of digital files can be valued, structured, and foreseen with functionality.
After the course, you will understand the meaning and importance of digital curation:
=> As a task in the context of digital preservation
=> As a process of selection in the context of information management
=> As a process for the preparation of digital exhibitions
