Content | This lecture provides a general overview about the electrical and optical properties of semiconductors and their application in devices such as diodes, solar cells and transistors. The following topics will be covered: - Introduction to the physics of semiconductors - pn junctions - Metal-semiconductor contacts - Metal-insulator-semiconductor capacitors - MOSFETs (CMOS) - Novel geometries and materials, Single electron transistors (SET) - LED & Laser - Photodetectors & Sensors - Solar cells |
