| Content | This workshop will be held by Stephan Meyer (MA), Deputy Director, English programme co-ordinator and lecturer at the Language Center of the University of Basel. This writing workshop gives PhD researchers who are in the process of writing up research for publication a framework in which to develop aspects of their writing competence and practice and receive feedback on written output. During a launching input session, you are familiarised with journal article reporting standards and some of the linguistic features of article introductions; given some tips on contemporary academic style; encouraged to try writing and feedback practices that develop writing competence and output. Over the following eight weeks thereafter, you work on your own texts, ideally with a writing partner. At the end of the writing phase, you receive written and oral feedback from the lecturer on an excerpt of your text. |
