Learning objectives | The modern tools of chemical biology will be discussed and contextualized with a discussion of pratical applications with those tools. Specific topics are: 1. DNA as an information carrier in organic synthesis, 2. Molecules that mimic nucleic acids, 3. Methods to chemically modify proteins, 4. The importance of organic reactions that are compatible with biological systems, i.e. bioconjugation 5. The use of fluorescence as an analytical tool in biology. |
