Content This course aims at providing the participating students with the basic skills to start working on a Master thesis in Physical Geography.
Students will be introduced and get actively involved in the collection and analysis of data related to the research projects of the Physical Geography and Environmental Change Research Group. Three areas of scientific activities are covered: (i) analysis of remote sensing data using Google Earth Engine, (ii) modelling of sediment transport, and (iii) environmental change in South African rangelands. Students have to participate in at least two of the three projects. The project on South African rangelands requires the participation in the field work in South Africa in January or summer 2023.
Learning objectives Introduction to the use of experiments, UAVs and rovers as tools in Physical Geographic research.
