Content | The African Politics Research Group, convened by Michael Aeby (University of Basel) and Sarah Rich Dorrman (University of Edinburgth), provides a platform to PhD students, postdocs and mid-career scholars to discuss ongoing and recently completed research with international peers in a casual online colloquium. We discuss working papers, elaborate research plans and recent publications by colleagues with various disciplinary backgrounds, whose work relates to African politics in a broader sense. This includes studies in political science, political history, political sociology and political anthropology as well as international relations and peace and conflict research. The Group was initiated in 2020 at the University of Edinburgh and comprises researchers who are based at African and Western universities. It provides an excellent platform to discuss work-in-progress with fellow researchers, including conceptual, methodological and empirical challenges, field research trips and papers to be submitted to journals or presented at international conferences.
