| Content | Desde las confusiones sentimentales y políticas del drama romántico hasta los experimentos naturalistas y modernistas, pasando por el furor del belcanto y las nuevas fórmulas exitosas del "teatro por horas" y de la revista, el siglo XIX es en España un tiempo de actividad frenética en los teatros: escritores, compositores, empresarios y compañías procuran satisfacer una creciente demanda de un público ávido de entretenimiento. En nuestro curso estudiaremos el desarrollo y los diversos géneros del teatro decimonónico, como texto pero también como espectáculo. Leeremos y discutiremos varias piezas (con ejemplos audiovisuales) y trabajos críticos sobre ellos. |
| Learning objectives | El objetivo de este curso es facilitar una visión panorámica sobre la actividad teatral y los géneros dramáticos (también músico-dramáticos) del s. XIX, acompañada por la lectura y discusión de diversas obras,. Los/las estudiantes conocerán las tendencias, los géneros, los autores y los textos dramáticos más canónicos, pero también algunos fenómenos menos estudiados de esta fase de la historia del teatro español. Practicarán análisis inmanentes y contextualizados de piezas teatrales, compararán los textos literarios con sus representaciones escénicas; de paso, también reflexionarán sobre el tratamiento de este campo en la investigación científica y sobre los procesos de canonización que han incidido en las obras. |
