| Content | This course is your starting point into the world of Blockchain and cryptocurrencies. We build a foundation that will enable you to understand this technology and see beyond the hype. The course covers elements from business, economics, computer science and cryptography. It consists of practical and theoretical blocks and offers a comprehensive introduction to various aspects of this fascinating topic. No programming experience required. This is an online course. All lectures will be provided as videos. |
| Learning objectives | 1. You will learn how Blockchains work and what they can be used for. 2. You will analyze the economic properties of Bitcoin and similar cryptoassets. 3. You will understand the characteristics of public ledgers and open consensus protocols. |

| Assessment details | Exercise Sets and Final Exam. written exam: 20.06.23; 14:45-16:15. DSBG Sporthalle: A-Z. For this exam you will still receive additional information by email. You would have to be on site at least 30 minutes before the exam starts. The addresses of the examination rooms can be found here: https://wwz.unibas.ch/de/studium/pruefungen/vorlesungs-und-pruefungsraeume/ You can still withdraw from the examination by submitting a completed, signed form to our office from 21.03.23 until 31.03.23 / 12:00 o’clock.
