Content | Participants will work in small, interdisciplinary groups on pre-selected topics of sustainability research. The topics will be linked to on-going research on aquatic invasive species. The group work will mainly build on existing studies; they will assess and link scientific literature from the different disciplines and combine these studies to a consistent interdisciplinary review. Goal is to come to scientifically sound policy recommendations, thoroughly considering scientific knowledge and experiences made with aquatic invasive species in various contexts. The emphasis is thus on identifying relevant literature, specifying the research question(s), and combining disciplinary debates to an overall perspective. To this end, participants will get both a joint supervision focusing on how to combine disciplinary approaches and a group-specific supervision focusing on the topic set for the group work. |
Learning objectives | Participants learn to work in an interdisciplinary group on a topic that is linked to sustainability research. They acquire practical knowledge regarding the interfaces between disciplines in sustainability research and methods for combining perspectives from different disciplines. Further, they gain knowledge about relevant ecological, economic and societal aspects of the problem of invasive species. In addition, participants expand their skills in team and project management. |
