| Content | This course provides an overview of the terrestrial vegetation. 'Why is what growing where' is one of the most fundamental questions in biology. Climate, soils, geological and glacial history, land use, animals, fire, are the big drivers that cause the characteristic global patterns of plant distribution. After this course students should have a strong visual impression as well as functional understanding of the major biomes of planet earth. |
