Content | Our workshop on scientific writing is aimed at third and fourth-year PhD students. This workshop provides practical expertise in the essential aspects of scientific writing. It involves 6 weekly one-hour sessions. Dates: 5 April, 12 April, 19 April, 26 April, 3 May & 10 May The workshop is interactive and will enable attendees to improve their writing skills through constructive feedback and peer discussion. The workshop includes homework, with the aim of drafting a publication-ready manuscript based on your PhD research. The workshop includes a broad range of topics essential for writing good scientific manuscripts. Included are manuscript planning, the role of writing tools like ChatGPT in streamlining the writing process, the optimal use of figures and tables, strategies for collaborative writing, manuscript preparation for submission, and relevant ethical aspects. Special attention will be given to overcoming the challenges inherent in writing, such as writer’s block and the revision process following peer review. Through discussions, case studies, and interactive sessions, attendees will practice the application of these concepts. |
