| Content | Data is everywhere and is now being used to answer many questions concerning our wealth, health, and well-being. The aim of this seminar is to enable you to thoughtfully and actively use data science techniques to help answer meaningful questions in a wide variety of domains, from marketing to management. The course will consist of 1) several introductory sessions on data science techniques using R (previous knowledge of R is beneficial but not required) 2) the application of these techniques to a specific applied question over the course of the semester. |
| Learning objectives | You should learn the fundamentals of a number of data science techniques, and develop confidence and skills in wrangling, analyzing, and communicating statistical data to answer specific and interesting questions in a quantified manner. |

| Comments | Maximale Anzahl Studierende: 15. Im Praxisseminar werden Studierende aus allen Vertiefungsrichtungen aufgenommen, aber mit unterschiedlichem Verteilschlüssel. Für die Studierenden der Vertiefung KPN (StO15) und des Majors Health & Interventions (StO24) wird die Zuteilung vom Studiendekanat nach den üblichen KPN/H&I-Praxisseminar-Verteil-Regeln vorgenommen. Die KPN/HI-PSY-Studierenden werden vom Studiendekanat über die Zuteilung informiert. Auswahlkriterien bei Überbelegung: 1. Vertiefungsrichtungen/Major SWE/S&C (7), PEP/S&C (4), KPN/H&I (4) 2. | Course application | Die interne Anmeldefrist der Fakultät für Psychologie ist der 19. Januar 2025. Die Anmeldung erfolgt durch das Belegen via services.unibas.ch (Start: 1.1.25). Vom 20. Januar bis 2. Februar 2025 nehmen die Dozierenden die Einteilung in die Seminare vor und informieren die Studierenden entsprechend. Die vier Studierenden der KPN/H&I werden in der Woche vom 3. Februar 2025 vom Studiendekanat über Zusage oder Absage informiert. Bitte stornieren Sie Ihre Belegung wieder, wenn Sie keinen Platz in einem Seminar erhalten haben. |
