Content | Principles of the immune system; Immunotoxicology of drugs; Immunosafety of biopharmaceuticals Immunosafety risk assessment; Immunosafety toolbox; Risk mitigation strategy Principles of T cell stimulation by hapten, prohapten, pi-concept and HLA restricted relations Immune reactions to biologicals: principles and clinic; Drugs and antibody productions: IgE mediated reactons (the penicilin model); anaphylaxis, cross-reactivity, pholcodin model Immun reactions to biologicals: infusion reactions and cytokine release syndromes: risk assessment. Type II and III reactions (haemolytic anaemia, agranulo-cytosis, throbocytopenia, ...) Drugs and the skin: toxicity & contact dermatitis Drugs and the skin: cutaneous reactions (MPE, SJS/TEN, AGEP) Risk assessment in drug hypersensitivity - in vivo or in vitro? Is it possible? Learning objectives | The basic principles of immunology should be known by the participants. Know the principles of immunotoxicological hazard identification and risk assessment of drugs. Know the basics of drug-induced hypersensitivity. Understand IgE mediated reactions against drugs. understand the basics of infusion reactions and cytokine release syndromes. Know the basics of skin reactions against drugs. |
