Content This interdisciplinary course explores how physical principles underpin biological phenomena across scales, from single molecules to cells and tissue. Key topics are:
1. Mechanobiology - the role of mechanical force in shaping cellular architecture, function and disease.
2. Cell Locomotion and Collective Behavior - the physical principles underlying the motility and coordination of bacteria.
3. Bioenergetics - how cells transform energy.
4. Membraneless Organelles - phase separation and the biomolecular condensation of membrane-free cellular compartments.
By bridging physics and biology, this course offers fascinating insights into the mechanical, energetic, and collective processes that govern life.
