Lecturers | Malte Helmert (malte.helmert@unibas.ch, Assessor) |
Content | In the reading group, we discuss current and classical research papers. The emphasis lies on work on action planning, search and related areas, but interesting papers from other areas are welcome. All participants can make recommendations for the reading list, from which one or more papers are selected for each meeting. Participants read the selected papers individually in preparation for the meeting and discuss them during the meeting. |
Learning objectives | Broaden the horizons of the participants (primarily doctoral and post-doctoral researchers) by reading, appraising and critically discussing classical and current research papers primarily in the areas of automated planning, heuristic search and optimization. |
Bibliography | Selected and announced during the meetings, usually 7 days in advance. |
Comments | Due to the international audience, reading group meetings take place online via Zoom. |

PhD students in researchs area outside the core topic of the reading group and students at Bachelor- or Master-level students may feel free to participate, but should be aware that the reading group is not a traditional course and that its design is based on the main target audience. |
Course application | If you intend to participate in the reading group regularly, please contact the AI research group to receive updates on the schedule and location. See the reading group webpage for more information. |
