48409-01 - Colloquium: Corporate Responsibility (3 CP)

Semester fall semester 2025
Course frequency Every fall sem.
Lecturers Georg von Schnurbein (georg.vonschnurbein@unibas.ch, Assessor)
Content Corporate responsibility (CR) is more than a buzz-word in modern management. It is assessed primarily in the three areas of ecological, social and governance. The so-called ESG factors serve as a basis for strategic decisions, marketing actions and company valuations on financial markets. In this colloquium, current scientific results on CR and case studies will be discussed.
Additionally, we plan a field trip to a local company to discuss, how corporate responsibility works today.
Learning objectives - Application and discussion of the latest research findings
- Analysis of the practical implementation of CR based on case studies
Bibliography basic literature: Haski-Leventhal, D.: Strategic Corporate Responsibility, Sage, 2018
Furthermore, a bibliography of recent research articles will be announced at the beginning of the colloquium.
