| Content | Machine Learning and Artifical Intelligence are currently leading to changes in the way research is done in a large number of fields. This lecture wants to give an overview of ways this is used in different areas of physics. An introduction to the basic approaches used in the field of machine learning is given, which is then followed by a discussion of examples from recent publications. Using this example the general idea is then further discussed. Examples are from the field of signal processing, statistical analysis, solving physical equations in the form of ODE and PDE, as well as methods for parameter estimation and inverse problems. |
