Content | Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) was one of the leading British novelists of Modernism. In this course, we will study four of her novels. |
Learning objectives | In-depth study of Virginia Woolf's novels, as well as of their reception. |
Bibliography | The following books by Virginia Woolf are required for the course and available from the Labyrinth bookstore at Nadelberg 17 in Basel: - "Jacob's Room" (1922): 978-0-393-92632-3 - "Mrs Dalloway" (1925): 978-0-393-65599-5 - "To the Lighthouse" (1927): 978-0-393-42259-7 - "Orlando: A Biography" (1928): 978-1-324-04436-9 These are Norton Critical Editions. Some of the secondary literature for the course will be from these editions. Selected further secondary literature on the four novels will be provided by the instructor. |
