Admission requirements Basic knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and computer architecture, e.g., from the lectures Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, and Distributed Programming and Internet Architecture. The lectures Operating Systems and Distributed Programming and Internet Architecture can be taken in the same semester as Cyber Security.

Students who have already obtained credits for "Computer Architecture and Trustworthy Computing"/"Rechnerarchitektur und vertrauenswürdiges Rechnen" (last offered Fall 2022) or "Internet and Security" (last offered Spring 2023) will not be able to get credits for Cyber Security because of overlaps with the security-related parts of those lectures. The new versions of these lectures ("Computer Architecture" (from Fall 2023) and "Distributed Programming and Internet Architecture" (from Spring 2024) are not affected by this restriction.
