Content The purpose of this course is to introduce participants to the principles of modern corporate financial management. These key elements build upon the valuation of firms, projects, and financial instruments and will be discussed and embedded into the broader context of core management disciplines as well as the business environment. Strong emphasis is placed on the valuation of firms and corporate transactions, on the capital structure decision and payout policy as well as on the instruments and challenges of long-term and short-term financing. Based on the principles of corporate finance, the participants learn to critically assess if investment projects and corporate transactions are financially viable, to understand which criteria need to be considered in both the decision making and the implementation process and to comprehend the financial dimension behind corporate activities.
Learning objectives The course provides an integrated understanding of the key pillars of modern corporate finance.
