| Content | Il seminario sarà dedicato alle forme e allo statuto della scrittura epistolare nei primi secoli della letteratura italiana. Se è stato osservato giustamente che la lettera privata come espressione intima del sé nasce soprattutto nel XVIII secolo, è però importante ricordare che anche le epoche precedenti hanno espresso attraverso la lettera il bisogno e il desiderio di comunicare tra assenti. Durante il XIV e XV sec. accanto al genere dell’epistola (soprattutto in latino), scritta come esercizio di imitazione dei modelli latini (in particolare Cicerone) comincia a farsi strada anche la lettera privata, testimonianza della volontà di stabilire un rapporto a distanza e, in alcuni casi, di affidare allo scritto una prima rielaborazione dell’esperienza personale e l’evocazione dei propri affetti. Attraverso un corpus che includerà autori celebri come Petrarca e Pulci ma anche la scrittura femminile (Caterina da Siena, Alessandra Macinghi Strozzi, Ceccarella Minutolo), ci interrogheremo sulle forme, i linguaggi e le funzioni assegnate alla lettera, da quella informativa relativa a eventi di portata storica al racconto del vissuto personale e del quotidiano, alla discussione di temi filosofici ed esistenziali. |
