| Content | The series of lectures with interactive group discussions provides an overview over direct and indirect health effects of climate change, vulnerability factors, as well as adaptation and mitigation strategies to reduce health risks. Each lecture is dedicated to a particular health topic for which background, key risk factors, etiology and possible interventions to increase resilience are discussed. The lecture series will show also how climate related policies may affect public health and present case studies from different perspectives and contexts. Content: Climate change processes and how do they affect several sectors, different pathways of climate change specific impact on health, effects of climate extreme events on heat-related morbidity and mortality; air pollution and health, pollen and allergies, migration, food systems, vector-borne diseases, health co-benefits, international agenda, mitigation and adaptation from the perspective of health professionals |
| Learning objectives | Participants will get updated evidence on the links between climate change and health. The course will also give an overview of methods and approaches from risk evaluation to adaptation measures, the political and economic dimensions, as well as the international agendas and frameworks. |
