Lecturers Aleksander Berentsen (aleksander.berentsen@unibas.ch, Assessor)

Building on this foundation, it analyzes key microeconomic and macroeconomic aspects of monetary theory and policy.
Learning objectives Develop a deep and structured understanding of money and financial systems. Students engage directly with frontier research, acquiring the ability to read, critically assess, and internalize advanced economic literature.
Bibliography The lecture is based on the book "Money, Payments, and Liquidity" (MIT Press, 2nd edition) by Guillaume Rocheteau (University of California, Irvine) and Ed Nosal (Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta).
Comments After the lecture 'Monetary Theory', the lecture 'Advanced Monetary Theory' starts. In this second part the students will present a paper at the research frontier of monetary theory.
