| Content | Freundschaft gilt als eine der intensivsten und zugleich am wenigsten formalisierten sozialen Beziehungen. Das populäre Versprechen des „Best Friends Forever“ suggeriert dabei Dauer, Verlässlichkeit und bedingungslose Nähe. Literarische Texte aus Skandinavien von der Frühen Neuzeit bis zur Gegenwart zeigen jedoch, dass Freundschaften keineswegs stabil oder eindeutig sind, sondern ebenso von Brüchen, Verschiebungen und asymmetrischen Erwartungen geprägt sein können. Zwischen Vertrautheit und Distanz, Solidarität und Konkurrenz entfalten sich komplexe Beziehungsgeflechte, die Fragen nach Identität, Zugehörigkeit und Selbstverständnis aufwerfen. Vor diesem Hintergrund versteht das Seminar Freundschaft nicht als zeitlose anthropologische Konstante, sondern als historisch variable kulturelle Praxis, deren literarische Inszenierungen Aufschluss über gesellschaftliche Normen, Geschlechterordnungen und Formen von Intimität geben. Das Seminar widmet sich literarischen Darstellungen von Freundschaft in literarischen Texten aus Skandinavien von der Frühen Neuzeit bis zur Gegenwart. Im Zentrum stehen unterschiedliche Konstellationen: Freundschaften unter Gleichaltrigen, über Generationsgrenzen hinweg sowie in Kontexten sozialer Ungleichheit. Analysiert werden erzählerische Verfahren, durch die Nähe, Intimität, Abhängigkeit und Entfremdung literarisch gestaltet werden. Dabei wird untersucht, wie Texte die historisch wandelbaren Grenzen zwischen Freundschaft, Liebe und anderen Formen sozialer Bindung verhandeln. |
| Learning objectives | Die Studierenden sind in der Lage, literarische Texte mithilfe literaturwissenschaftlicher Methoden zu analysieren und in ihren historischen Kontext einzuordnen. Sie können narrative Darstellungsverfahren von Nähe, Intimität und sozialer Bindung beschreiben sowie deren kulturelle Funktionen herausarbeiten. Sie sind zudem fähig, zentrale theoretische und philosophische Ansätze zur Freundschaft und Intersubjektivität auf literarische Texte anzuwenden. |
| Bibliography | Die Primär- und Sekundärliteratur wird in der ersten Seminarsitzung vorgestellt. |
| Admission requirements | Kenntnisse einer skandinavischen Sprache sind von Vorteil, aber nicht Voraussetzung. Studierende aus anderen Fachrichtungen sind willkommen. |
